A brief report about children situation in Iraq
There are many problems facing children in Iraq, that we can talk about some of them as a main and more important, they are:
First:
Having no security is problem for all Iraqis that effects children directly .its sure you have hearted about daily explosions in Baghdad, explosion that happened close to elementary school in year 2005 in Baghdad, killed 33 child and the other one happened at the beginning of April 2007 in the area of – rahim awa in kerkuk - , if we look for some while before the incident of Al Aemma bridge in Baghdad, that lost hundreds of children their lives, those incidents are happening daily.
I want to say the problem is not just an explosion kill some children and, the rest who rescued they do not have any problem .vise versa .having no security in live effects children in many ways; it’s an imaginable how these explosion and internal fitting between various groups are effecting children.
Imagine how killing tens of people, beheading them, cutting human bodies, effect children. All of these happened in the view of children, whose ages are 6-7 years, what imagine and think create inside them for the father, life and human being.
Certainly affection is stay for along time in live.
You have to add the rate of 20% of victims from explosions is children accordingly to official statistics.
Second:
According to official statistics of the government and related organization , more than 3000,000 families those who lost one of their parents ,at least has one child .you will find out at least 3000,000 children who lost one of their parents , who’s pitted by none, its an imaginable how are children effected negatively .
Third:
Child abuse , inhumanity , hard work, losing schools , books, having unhealthily services , no milk , games , water , electricity , safe place for games …etc , poverty ,families live under the line of poverty brought to kids a huge problem , they are effects more than any other in the world .
On tab of that taking drugs by children, which is the mafia and armed gangs dealing with them is a catastrophe and unbelievable.
According to the statistic issued by ministry of health in year 2005, there are 7000 child in Baghdad taking drugs, the worst than that isn’t taking any action against that phenomenon by the government.
As a result of that this number getting bigger day by day.
Sexual abuse to those who their ages are between 6-7 years and getting them to pregnant whose their ages are between 10-12 years, you can found places in most provinces in Iraq for having sex with children, homelessness children eat from garbage collected places, sleeping in street, we are in the – children protecting center in Iraq – have a documentary films about that.
Fourth:
We can found another problem, there isn’t in the past, that is immigrate and homeless.
It’s clear that the children are the first victim in this phenomenon.
if we take a look at children whose their families live in the city and have house live in , but they have problems , so how about those whose homelessness and immigrated for their home land , live in schools , old house ,…etc .lose school, house , health , hospital , medical , necessary things for live .
If give an example as a result for those who left homes from fighting between religious groups tribunal people is 365000 live in other places.
we are in the children protection center in Iraq after touring among places which they live there , in order to know about their lives , found and notice children live alive can not compare to life in development countries even can not campier to a normal life .
in a visit to Al Meidan region in Baghdad located at the central Baghdad close to –Shorije – we noticed families and children live in old houses ,muddy houses , destroyed , no news about electricity , water , basic needs for live .
Today there is another problem for children like involving them in army forces, preparing them for bombing themselves and explowed themselves in a crowdie places, teaching them a religious lectures, etc.
There are thousands of children in the prison, many with their families, accused for steel or crime.
I believe that I can’t give a clear and perfect view at children situation in a brief report like that, which are children suffer from in Iraq. But I tried to show picture of children’s live in Iraq, only.
