Actually, not a pen can write down the story of that child, not any mind can express the case of this child.  When we hear something like that, we might feel sorry for living in such community which is thirsty for blood.  If we see such view in a horror movie, we immediately cover our eyes.  Imagine, who is that can cut her/his own baby’s hand with a knife.  Without any doubt this disaster will affect everyone if you he/she has a little pity.

Darya Hussen is just one and half year.  Her life has been messed up.  When I saw Darya’s father in flood of eyes, he was waiting to meet anyone to cry and say whatever he hid in his heart.  He started talking for me, “when my oldest daughter ran to me and told me that Darya’s hand has been cut, I immediately thought that the cut is simple.  When I got home I saw Sewa  (Darya’s mother), she was wiping blood to outside of the room with a wiper.” He was continuing, “I asked about Darya but my two other children could not answer me because they saw the disaster with their eyes.    When I entered, Darya was laid down on a blanket, her color was quite white and her hand was bandaged with a plastic bag. I immediately took off the bag; I saw her hand alone inside the bag the bag was linked to her arm.   Then I shouted, cried, and strongly hit my head with my both hands.”

On 27 Feb, 2011 and exactly at 11:00 AM in the city of Rania, a woman cuts one of her baby’s hands.  The child is sent to Sulaimani Hospital and after a bit surgery, the baby is in a stable health.  According to the father of the child, the child’s mother is not stable psychologically and the effects of Anfal still active in her mind.  What is worth mentioning is that, this is not her first time to hurt her children.  She attempted to kill her two other daughters before and she burned some parts of their body.  Hussen is a grosser and he usually has a small knife in his pocket.   He puts the knife near his pillow while he sleeps. Hussen was continuing and said, “Three nights before this disaster,  I suddenly woke up I saw Sewa was trying to get the knife.  I asked her what did she need for but she did not answer me.  How could I know she was tending to do such thing?”

Darya’s father was so emotionally upset of the Government and said, “If the Government gave had taken a concern about Sewa and paid her money, I would not have had work.  I would stayed at home and serve my three daughters.  However I still feed them and wash them…”

Dear all…. In this country what is extremely ignored is children.  The ones that will be the victims of the social, economical, and political issues were mostly children.  For example, we all have seen what happen in a few months ago (Rezhwan 15 years old, Swrkew 16 years old, Grmyan 11 years old, and Sherzad 17 years old.)  The last victim was Darya whom her hand was cut with knife.  When she grows up in the future, she will ask, “Why her hand was cut?”  Who can answer this question??!!  In a near future, how can she write among her primary school’s friends?

Dear all…. Sewa who is Darya’s mother, she also is one of the victim of this life too. Consequently, Government should take serious steps to those who are left from Anfal and try to find solutions in order not to see similar disasters again.
